The act takes place in two nearby apartments. Charming single girls – what strange names! – Pukitsa and Bulba are visited by bachelors – Znaidukh and Gaunino. Searching for their special someone they come and stay, leave and put up, argue and kiss.  And all these miseries arise from the wish to start a family, to find a person you can fall asleep and wake up with, enjoying life together spending the rest of your days.
