The art event which is held to preserve and promote Ukrainian culture and to develop theatrical art. It has been held since 2005. Each time a new direction and a new format are chosen. The focus of the festival is determined by exchange of experiences and search for innovative forms of performing and theatrical art. Such famous figures as V. Popov, KLIM, V. Troitsky, Edzyun Echika, B. Yukhananov took part in the festival.
“Golden Khortytsia” – The 1st festival in 2005 drew the public’s attention to the original small forms and chamber performances.
“Golden Khortytsia” – The 2nd Festival in 2006 addressed ethnic sources of theatricality.
“Golden Khortytsia” – The 3rd festival “Kurbas – Interfest-2007” was associated with the name of the genius scene innovator, “the first Ukrainian European” Lesya Kurbas.
“Golden Khortytsia” – The 4th festival in 2010 was focused on modern theater and cinema.
“Golden Khortytsia” – The 5th festival in 2015 was a theatrical festival of mono performances.
“Golden Khortytsia” – The 6th Festival in 2017 turned towards alternative Ukrainian theater.
In 2019, with the support of UCF (Ukrainian Cultural Foundation), the festival is held under the new name “VieFest”.
